Er...

I did something not so smart. At about 7:45, I drank a bottle of Mountain Dew. It had a lot of caffiene. And red dye. And it was probably a very bad idea to drink it. But in my defense, I was only halfway through driver's ed and I was falling asleep, thus I needed something to keep me awake while the torture knowledge was doled out to me.
So here I am. 2:29 am. Not really tired. So I'm going to just do some meaningless ranting.
Brace yourself.
;)
So. Lately...I feel out of tune with people. Like I don't want to talk to anybody. Not my family, my friends, strangers...no one. Even my best friends...I just have no desire to be around people or talk to them at all. Honestly, I want to lock myself in my room, put headphones in, and either read a book or write.
Unfortunately, life doesn't go on hold for my freakish mood swings. So I can't do that.
And something else that's ticking me off? (I did tell you to brace yourself for my ranting, right?) The one person that I do want to talk to? Yeah, they're being stupid...I mean, a jerk...well, they're being difficult, to put it quite mildly. And the worst part is that I don't even know if they know they're doing this, and if they do, why they're avoiding my futile attempts at conversation. This person...I don't know. I can talk to them differently. Most of the time, I don't have to be serious with them. It's such easy conversation. And now I'm stressed...and they're gone.
And me? I'm doing this.
And I apologize for that if you've actually read all this.
I think I'm done now. I'm kind of falling asleep.
Ah...okay. Goodnight. I promise I'll actually try to post something worth reading soon!

Homework Help?

I'm going to do something I've never done before....I'm going to use my blog to get what I need. Or want. Or...need. Heh.
So anyways. I'm doing a research project on the influence that post modernism (modernistic?) views have had on the English language. (i.e, the word "gay" used to mean happy, but now there are some people in this generation that don't even know that, etc)

So I would be forever grateful if you could:
A) Comment with some words that you can think of that have undergone severe (or not so severe) meaning changes in the last 50-60 (or longer) years.
B) Ask your parents, friends, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, etc, if they can think of any.
C) Uh...I don't think there is a "C"...but if you can think of another way to help, more power to ya :)

So yeah. If you could help out, that would be awesome! And in like two weeks or so, I'm going to come back and be begging for help again. So if I see my number of followers dramatically drop, I'll totally understand ;)

P.S...It wouldn't hurt to point more people in the direction of this blog either. More followers is always a plus :D
Please & Thank You!

Whoops

I forgot to blog yesterday.
Wait, I take that back. I didn't really forget, I just didn't get a chance to.
So here I am today.
With ten things that have made me smile this week :)

1) I had school off yesterday!

2) I have minimal homework today, which means...

3) I should have time to read the books that I'm supposed to be receiving in the mail today!

4) My driver's ed teacher is a little...enthusiastic (to put it mildly?). I called it as soon as she came into the room. My friend Elizabeth told me I was being crazy. But by the end of the class Elizabeth was pushing me to get out of the room. Mhm.

5) Pandora. So oh my goodness. I don't know why I never used Pandora before. And apparently now the app for your iTouch/phone you can close the app while it's still playing music? I'm in love with it.

6) Easter. Easter was good! I got to sit and watch as my younger sister searched for her Easter basket for a full hour...while I had found mine in five minutes (but I did help her look!)

7) 4 & 1/2 weeks of school left! Heh. You can bet this will be on here every week until I'm done school.

8) Letting go. Letting go of certain things that should have been let go long ago...it just makes you feel so free. And carefree. It's a fun time.

9) Sending people subliminal messages. Haha :)

10) Coincidences! They're fun. (And can you tell I really can't think of ten solid things?)

And just as a side note....something that doesn't make me smile...I started writing this post at like nine, then I saved it as a draft while doing homework. And now it's 3:07 and guess what? I don't have my books yet! Ahhh. My mail comes too stinkin' late. I have to leave for driver's ed in two and half hours. Soooo I'm thinking I'm not going to get a chance to read. Gr.
...Uh. I'll stop ranting now :)

20 Reasons Why....

I have no clue if it's actually going to be twenty reasons. It might be four, it might be fifty. But I needed a number to stick in the title, and 20 sounds like a nice, rounded number, no?

Oh. Hah. I suppose I should tell you what these reasons are explaining. These are (whatever number it ends up to be) reasons why I'm convinced I'm a book-obsessed crazy person.

1) A little while ago, I was pondering whether or not I should buy capri pants before they sell out, or buy books. There really wasn't even much pondering. Books won.

2) I was watching some movie in which a couple became engaged & were going to pre-marriage counseling. I started wondering if, whenever I'm going to get married, I would go to pre-marriage counseling. I had pretty much convinced myself that I wouldn't need to, when a thought popped into my mind...
"Wait! Christy and Todd had to go to pre-marriage counseling! And they were like the most put together, best couple ever to walk this earth!! I'll definitely need it..."
Yeah, Christy and Todd are fictional characters.

3) When people ask me for advice, the wealth of my advice comes from books. Fictional books.Out of which I have never paused to wonder if the advice will actually translate well into the real world. Woops.

4) I'm most likely going to have to get a job soon. I recently hit the panic button when I realized that meant I wouldn't be able to sit around and read all summer.

5) Sometimes I'm talking to a person and I can't figure out who they remind me of. Fast forward a few hours and I realize it was this character from that book, or that character from this book.

6) I've spent many a Tuesdays (the busiest day of my week, homework-wise) procrastinating homework to read.

7) I've pulled quite a few all-nighters. Reading.

8) I treat my books much better than many of my other possessions that should probably get more respect. Too bad for them.

9) "What do you want for your Birthday?"
    "Books."
    "....Besides books..."
    "....Money to buy books with?"

10) I often find my self in situations that require the question, "What would (insert random fictional character's name here) do in this situation?"

11) I cry over books. A lot.

12) Sometimes I'll be doing something and I'll start laughing randomly. Because I remembered a really funny quote from a book.

13) You know that feeling when you have a (pardon the term) crush? Not that you totally like (hate that word too) somebody. But just a smallllllllll attraction? Yeah, sometimes I have that feeling and I have no clue why.
...Do I even need to finish this statement? Didn't think so.
(But for you slow ones those who do need clarification ...I tend to fall in love with fictional characters. Every time.)

14) Sometimes I'm angry, like, really angry, and people ask me why I'm angry. I try to tell them, but apparently they think it's funny when I say, "Because Katniss kissed Gale when she shouldn't have and now the boy with the bread is really upset and he's supposed to be her soul mate and I've been rooting for Peeta all along and now it's all falling apart and I want more than anything to throw this book out my window, but I just can't yet because I figure I've gotten this far, I should just finish them, but I still really hate them, and yet I really love them and I just can't figure out if I like these books or not but all I know is that I'm angry that this author has to go and poke holes in perfect relationships!"
...Silly people.

15) I've slowly pieced together my picture of my "dream guy"...based solely upon my favorite male characters from books.

...And I would just like to say that the fact that I even wrote this post points to the fact that I'm just a teeny bit obsessed with books...

P.S....My recent favorite? Save the Date by Jenny B. Jones. Such a cute, hilarious book.
[I finished it on Tuesday ;)]

Hiiiiiiiiiiiii.

So...I'm already thinking that I'm going to have to find some other sort of organized thing to do on my blog. Because it's already been a few days since the thirty day challenge ended and I haven't even been thinking about writing on here.
SO.
Every Monday (Hopefully) I'm going to post ten things that make me smile...either that have the past week or just in general. I figure it'll be good since Monday's are usually kind of yucky anyways.

1) Five and a half weeks of school left. Yes please. That makes me smile. Lots.

2) This lady's blog. I honestly wish I was as unique and creative as her.

3) This book cover!! I honestly don't think I can explain how stinkin' excited I am for this book to come out in...168 days, four hours, and five minutes...not that I'm counting ;)
Jenny B. Jones writes some of the wittiest Christian teen fiction I've ever read.

4) The sun. I've been appreciating it much more with the rainstorms that have been hitting us.

5) My friends. I love them so much.

6) The fact that I get to take drivers' ed with one of my best friends on the face of this earth. It's such a relief that I don't have to take it by myself!!

7) The movie The Magic of Ordinary Days. I may or may not have spent my weekend (being sick and) watching Hallmark movies.

8) My ridiculous idea of marrying a Southern boy. Further encouraged by watching Sweet Home Alabama.

9) Floral print! This is my new thing. I want everything to be floral. Like...right now.

10) Vintage. Vintage everyyyything. I'm into that as well.

Oh yeah...and I totally just realized I have yet to blog about my spring break disaster adventure. But I really can't find the...oomph...to buckle down and write about it! Ahhhh!

30 Day Challenge- Day...

Thirty?
I missed yesterday....so technically I should do day twenty-nine today. But I don't really have any guilty pleasures...at least not that I'm willing to admit! (They are called guilty for a reason... :p)
Kidding. I really don't.
Or do I?

Okay, okay. I really don't. At least not that I can think of. And I'm so ready for this darned little challenge to be over because it has become quite bothersome as of late.

So. Without further adieu...
30 Day Challenge- Day Thirty- Top Five Favorite Song Lyrics

1) "I can finally see, that you're right there beside me. I am not my own, for I have been made new. Please don't let me go, I desperately need you" - "Meteor Shower" by Owl City.

...Couldn't I just put allll of Owl City's lyrics in here...?

2) All of the lyrics to Hawk Nelson's "Shaken"

3) "You told me, look for you and I will find, so I'm here like I'm searching for the first time. Revive me, Jesus make this cold heart start to move. Help me rediscover You." - "Rediscover You" by Starfield.

4) "Worlds are spinnin' round, there's no sign of slowing down, so won't you take a breath, just take a breath? People change and promises are broken, clouds can move and skies will be wide open. Don't forget, to take a breath. Life isn't suffocating. Air isn't overrated." - "Take a Breath" by...ahem...The Jonas Brothers..
As my obsession  interest in them has slowly (actually, not really slowly...) waned, I still love this song. Lots.

5) "There was a new girl in town. She had it all figured out. Well I'll state something rash. She had the most amazing....smile. I bet you didn't expect that. She made me change my ways" -"Into Your Arms" by The Maine.
These lyrics make me laugh. Every time. The first time I was listening to the song I heard the first part and I was like "Shoot!" and I was about to turn it off because I knew the song would get in my head. Then I heard the second part and started laughing. And it's even funnier in the music video. Anyways. I scrolled down into the comments section and apparently hundreds of other people are just as gullible as I am. Good to know...I think.

That was hard. I always draw a blank when I come to do these things. And those probably aren't even my top five favorites. More like my top five favorites that I could think of at the time being. But hey...does it even matter? I'm done with this challenge.
Yay. Now I can go look for something else ridiculously time consuming to do on my blog. ;)

P.S. I couldn't find any favorite lyrics from him. But Landon Pigg has some amazing music. Kinda been obsessed with him lately!

30 Day Challenge- Day Twenty Eight

Top Five Favorite TV Shows
...I really don't watch TV very much.
There's like two...and a half. At least that I watch on a regular basis.

1) Lost (I miss this show more than I can describe)
2) White Collar
3) Fairly Legal...kinda. I just started watching it and I'm kind of on the fence about it.

Anddddd. I kinda want to start watching 24.
