is so very cruel to me. I haven't even been on here for almost a month. Because there is really nothing to write about. Yep, my days consist of boredom. And math. Can't forget the math. My Algebra 2 book has become my constant companion, a stead-fast friend through the grueling monotony of "Summer Vacation".
Ha.Ha.
Not really. It's become more of a boomerang- I throw it away, it comes back and smacks me in the face...something to that effect, at least ;)
There is something good about having a lot of free time on my hands, though. I've been reading so much more. This past year, I haven't really done a whole lot of reading for fun, just because there was always a book I was reading for school, or a huge work load for me to finish.
And one thing that I was extremely happy about was that I finally finished a Jane Austen book. Yay! I read Mansfield Park, and I got through it in about two days. It was actually easier to read than Pride and Prejudice or Emma, both of which I've started but never fully finished.
The last book I finished was The Host by Stephenie Meyer (she wrote the Twilight books) and it was so good. I tell ya, she has a talent for putting just the right words together, her books can have you laughing one second and sobbing the next. And yes, I did sob. About four times.
Anyway, all of these books I've been reading have been inspiring me to write. I wrote a short story for school last month, and I really liked the story, so I've been lengthening and changing some stuff in it.
So yeah, that's my summer thus far. No amusement parks, swimming pools, or beach trips for me...yet.
Actually I heard my parents talking tonight at dinner and got something to the effect of:
"Why does Naomi need this bug repellent [I'm allergic to mosquito bites...or the reactions the anesthetic does or something...] she never goes outside anyway!"
True Story. I really don't go outside enough. But, nobody can blame me when I'm some brilliant scholar because of all the hours I spent indoors reading and writing ;)
Okay, I'm rambling now-the effect of excessive boredom- so I think I shall go find a new book to read :)
Hope everyone is enjoying their summers just as much (but really much, much more) as I am!
