ICan'tThinkOfAGoodTitleToday

Alright, so first off, sorry I haven't had a good post in a while. I actually have like 43567 ideas, but none of them are really translating well from my head to the keyboard. But I promise I'm going to try and post something really, really soon!
But, until then, here's something that I wrote that I honestly don't even remember writing...I'm pretty sure it was around four in the morning when I wrote it? Not sure...but I kind of like the mood of it- it's kind of different from what I usually write. Soooo I might be spinning it further into a full story. :)

Kierra skidded to a stop, grabbing onto the wall to maintain her balance. She leaned her hands on her knees and tried to catch her breath. The heavy footsteps banging against the cement floor were becoming more audible with each passing second. She allowed herself only one more second of rest before taking off in a sprint again and continuing her search for an escape from this stone-walled prison.
As she rounded a corner, Kierra spotted light streaming in behind a tall stack of boxes. She heaved her foot towards the center of the stack and smiled slightly as the boxes crashed to the floor, landing haphazardly at her feet. The window was small- perhaps only a foot wide and two feet tall, but she knew it was her greatest chance for escape.
She stacked up three boxes and leaned towards the window, struggling to unlatch the heavy plated glass as her pursuers moved closer through the warehouse.
"Finally," Kierra whispered breathlessly as the lock came loose and the glass swung open. She spared herself a moment to breathe in the cold morning air, but it was a moment she could not afford. Just as she was pulling herself out of the window, a gloved hand reached up and grabbed her ankle, pulling her to the ground.
Kierra squinted up at her attacker, struggling to remain conscious. She gasped as the black mask was removed, revealing a face more familiar to her than her own. The last thing she muttered was "I always loved you..." before spiraling into darkness.

So yeah! I kind of feel like I could work with that and write a good story, but I'm thinking about saving it for later, in case I want (or have time) to do National Novel Writing Month in November. We shall see.
Anyways, hopefully I'll be back later this week with a post I've been wanting to write for a while now!
Hope your day/week/month/summer is going wonderfully! :)

P.S.- Country music and coffee is my life now. ;)

  1. Like the new blog look.
Have you ever been a part of NaNo? One of the omnibus teachers at my old school did it one year and challenged his students to do it. One of my old students, Ryan did it and thought it was one of the best experiences of his HS life. He is not into writing like you but does now have a blog. He is a graffiti artist and into computers, graduating this year from USC. Maybe you need to think more about trying it this year. What do you think?

  2. I actually just heard about it for the first time, maybe two months ago? I've pretty much been planning on doing it this year, but that will also depend on how busy I am with everything else. But I think it would be something really helpful for me especially, since I would be focusing more on just the writing and not so much on editing as I go along, which is something that I do a lot.
