Snow Stories...

"I told you we should have stayed!" Ariana shouted, half indignant, half panicked.
The elder sister, Jaden, gritted her teeth. "I don't want to hear any I told you so's"
Suddenly, the carriage swerved off the road. The drive managed to get the car back onto the snow packed road. Ariana jerked her head back onto the seat behind her. "Look!" she exclaimed suddenly. "Stables! With a small tavern connected to them. We can stop and feed the horses and perhaps send a messenger to the Stevenson residence. There is no way we can make it back to Brighton now!"
Jaden sighed and nodded in agreement. She leaned her head out the carriage door. "George!" she called to their young driver. "Please try to pull into that stable."
George consented and inched the carriage towards the direction of the settlement. A half hour later, their carriage was finally pulling into the dirt path leading to the tavern. George stopped the carriage and walked around to the door. "Miss Wiggins, Miss Ariana, you will have to get out here at the tavern while I take the horses to the stable."
The sisters noddedf and George helped them out one by one. The girls picked their way through the heavy snow into the tavern, They were instantly mortified. It was full of crooks and hooligans...

~~~
So that is the result of over an hour spent sitting in the car...in a gas station. Almost an hour away from my house. Switch the carriage to a car, the tavern to a Shell station, and get rid of the driver entirely, add in my sister, driving in harsh conditions. I'm no mathlete, but I'd say that makes for a super fun time!
Right?
Wrong.
Where did the snow even come from? I didn't see it coming. We were at some friends' house and looked out the window and everything was covered in snow.
So we started going home. Got about five minutes away. An intersection was blocked. There was no way we were getting through.
So, we were picked up and taken back to the house, where we were forced to spend the night.
I mean...
Where we had a blast spending the night.
;)
Actually, it was quite fun, except for the hour and a half we wasted watching The Last Airbender.
Still, I'm glad to be back home, warm and comfy cozy.
Okay, this post is gonna nose dive now, so I'm going to leave it :)
Enjoy the snow!
